French news this week had a story about the Italians finding that
rotten eggs were used the liquid eggs sold to many major manufacturers
of food products INCLUDING pasta. The eggs were traced to a British
firm who was found in past years to have also used rotten eggs sold to
Northern European companies. I can't find an English link to this
story on google.
Barilla took out full page ads in newspapers stating that they do not
buy from this company and their pasta is fine.
