That's what she calls it, and I don't dispute that.

It's an experiment in making French toast using
doughnuts.

And she discloses one of Rachael Ray's beauty
secrets. (Hint: it involves doughnuts.)

Try making french toast out of real, homemade croissants.
It'll blow the doughnut version out of the water.

Only an idiot would try and soak the outside of glazed donut in
french toast batter. Duh.

Well, maybe it appears that way now that you know what
happens, but before the experiment was tried it
couldn't have been known with certainty what reaction
would take place. Maybe it would have fused into
some sort of intermediate form, with the best of both
glaze and french toast batter. Thank gawd for the
scientists who check these things out!

I stopped looking at the page as soon as I saw that picture, so
it's not hindsight.

This is what separates the people that can cook from those that
don't have a clue: predicting the outcome of your actions in the
kitchen. This one was exceptionally easy to see coming. Maybe
they should have turned them over?

I'm not a French toast fan, but I can see it working for some
people. Reg's suggestion of using a croissant was especially
evil. That I could try with a lightly sweet batter.
