I would really appreciate the contact details of a shop in Sweden or Norway
(well, anywhere in Europe actually) who would be willing to ship an
Electrolux Assistent stand mixer (model AKM4110W - that's the basic mixer
with no accessories) to the United Kingdom. It would probably help if I
could talk to them in English via the telephone to discuss shipping charges.
Sadly Electrolux do not market the Assistent in the UK.

I have tried Komplett.se but they are not allowed to ship outside their
region.

I bought one six or seven years ago from a company which is no longer
trading and have finally worn it out. Using something with a one-year
warrranty two or three times a week for mixing heavy dough and getting over
six years out of it is pretty good going, I reckon.

An update here - one after another, the companies in Sweden and Norway I
have telephoned or emailed have come back to me and said they are not
permitted to sell the Electrolux Assistent outside their home countries. So
much for a unified European market - ha!

Despite being a happy user of Electrolux for years, I have now cast my eye
towards other brands and have settled on a commercial Kitchenaid model. A
quick peruse of the Kitchenaid.com USA site shows several new models for the
US commercial market which we in the UK are not allowed to purchase, but we
can have the previous generation. A Kitchenaid 5KPM5 will hopefully be
making its way to my worktop very shortly.

Phew!

Every one of the places I wrote or spoke to said they either could not sell
outside their geographic region or were not permitted to ship it to the UK.
I assume it is because Electrolux have not applied for the CE testing for
the UK since they don't market it here therefore the shops are not allowed
to sell a non-CE tested product in the EU. This is a guess though, but after
five stores with a consistent response...
