For a rather dubious reason, we need to find somewhere to eat and
stay on Easter Saturday, and are looking for a decent restaurant
with associated or nearby accommodation. The limit is a couple
of hours driving time - e.g. the East Anglian coast is OK, but
Wales isn't. And moderate price, not the Fat Duck.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Nick Maclaren.

Hi Nick, I didn't know you posted here, I am just a lurker and this is
my first post.

At Norwich there are several places, try taking a look at By
Appointment, great restaurant with about 6 unique rooms above, a
lovely place.

I don't know how much you want to spend, Morston Hall up on the North
Norfolk Coast is a Michelin restauranr, not too expensive run by
Galton Blackiston and he also has rooms.

Wymondham, Norwich is a market town and a great restaurant is number
24, you will find loads of accommodation in gthe town.

Adlards Restaurant at Norwich is superb, no rooms but it's in an area
of the City, Upper St. Giles Street and there are plenty of hotels and
small personal hotels within walking distance.

I hope you find something good.

Judith
p.s. what's the dubious reason?????

I can recommend the Old Bridge hotel in Huntingdon if you are looking
for luxury accommodation and fine dining with the expected price tag
(single room £90+/night and meals ~££75+ for two). I think they also
have some other restaurants and hotels under their management.

Alternatively the Dolphin Hotel at St Ives is not bad but cheaper.
They have quite an extensive menu of average to good food and a
carvery option. Also I St Ives is Bridges Restaurant which is a
somewhere between the Old Bridge and the Dolphin in terms of price and
quality.

I think all of these have websites but I haven’t got their addresses
at home with me.

You must be kidding! The Dolphin. Have you ever been there in the evening?
