Dear All
Just wondered if anyone knew of any well-recommended (I don't mind high
price either!) restaurants in and around the Reading area?
Cheers
Richard

The French Horn at Sonning was pretty good when I was last there.
You'll be a bit out of place without a platinum credit card, though.

Crayfish thermidor followed by Tempura Dover Sole with some lovely chunky
homemade tartare sauce - splendid meal, thanks for the recommendation.
My boss commented on the interesting (but apparently common) combination of
young Eastern European waitresses and grumpy old waiters!
Also - we had a vegetarian and a "non-dairy" person eating who were catered
for effortlessly.
A very enjoyable evening!

Good, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.
It's a while since I was last there, and I don't remember any Eastern
European staff (but they're common enough these days). I do recall the
wine list though - the most expensive bottle on it at the time cost
£3,600!
