Just want to bounce one off the group. I have been working to get
glucose under control and varying my meds dosage - most recent is
Metformin 1000mg x 2 at mealtimes. Still getting readings over
130-140, but today a bit of a surprise.
Last night we had swordfish (coincidental?) and my FBG this a.m. is
120 - best reading for me in a long time. I have been victim of the
dawn effect and am trying to find solutions.
Any feedback?

I suspect it would have been similar with most fish,
although it's probably more related to the starches and
veges you had with it. What was your peak post-prandial test
result after the swordfish meal? Have you been testing at
those peaks as suggested here:
http://www.alt-support-diabetes.org/NewlyDiagnosed.htm ?

I've found that my fasting BG's are a longer term indicator,
not directly related to the previous evening meal although
affected to a degree by the overall diet and exercise of the
prior day and by my bedtime snack.

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.
d&e, metformin 1500mg, ezetrol 10mg
