Hi,

I wonder if any of the food experts out there can tell me some of the
most pressing issues with regards to food safety today?

For instance, what can government and food companies do to improve food
safety? What can CEOs in food companies do to ensure food safety?

Will appreciate any reply.
Thanks.
SG

>From the perspective of a USDA, FSIS Public Health Veterinarian, the
most pressing issues in food safety are related to microbial
contamination such as with E. coli O157 H7, Salmonella, Camphylobacter
and Listeria.

HACCP application is beneficial but I feel that it is not as effective
as could be. This is due to failure of recognizing that it is a form
of process control. Better implementation of process control
techniques such as statistical process control and total quality
management would further both food safety and overall efficiency.
