the irony is that unless we're in the fantasy land that is made up of gorgeous
CGI or in a book like the one i just finished, or an rpg, life is a boring
slice of nothing. the real world is the desert and there is no destination, no
predefined goal, no plotline. nothing.

what the hell are we doing here?

You are right that my imagination is much better than real life. Except for
the part that is it fakety-fake. I think you have to write your own
plotline. I think successfully happy people make achieving their goals the
destination. The joy is in the journey. Or it should be.
